Additives for PBT
PBT Introduction
PBT is an abbreviation of Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) which is a thermoplastic engineering polymer that is used as an insulator in the electrical and electronics industries.
Baoxu Additives for PBT
Baoxu Chemical Supply Antioxidants, Colorants, flame-retardants, Heat Stabilizers, Impact Modifiers, Lubricants, Nucleating Agents, OBAs, and UV Stabilizers for PBT plastics. Both Function and Processing Additive for PBt, We Simply Plastic Compounding.
Anti-Dripping Agent for PBT
Anti-dripping agents (ADA) are effective auxiliary flame retardants against dripping during the burning of plastics and polymers. It prevents burning plastic from dripping off and thus meet the requirements of UL 94. The anti-dripping agent is a kind of polymer with a coating on the surface of PTFE particles. The outer coated polymer is generally polyacrylonitrile, polystyrene and polymethyl methacrylate. Anti dripping are not frequently used in PBT.
Antioxidant for PBT
Polymer antioxidants can be added to improve the shelf life of the product or to improve its high-temperature stability. while adding a stability margin during thermal processing. Antioxidant BX AO 1010, BX AO 168 is used a general purpose Antioxidant for PBT, BX AO 626, 627, 9228, using together with BX AO 330 can be used for high-performance Antioxidant for PBT.
Compatibilizer for PBT
Compatibilizer are additives, that when added to a blend of immiscible materials during extrusion, modifies their interfacial properties and stabilizes the melt blend. Immiscible blends may be mixtures of two or more dissimilar polymers or mixtures of polymer (s) and organic or inorganic components.
POE-GMA, and E-MA-GMA are used as Compatibilizers and Impact modifiers for PBT. Arkema AX8900 is frequently used in PBT.
Pigment and Dyes for PBT
Colorants give color to polymers, plastics, coatings, inks, and fiber. Every color we see in our daily life is related to colorants. For industry usage colorants, we offer organic pigments, solvent dyes, fluorescent pigments, and titanium dioxide. In the colorant portfolio, our products are analogs to BASF and other brands.
Flame Retardant for PBT
Combustion could occur when a substance is heated to its flammable temperature in the presence of oxygen. Flame retardants are generally designed to provide a particular level of resistance to ignition or flame spread. This is achieved by suppressing oxygen availability, building up of char at the surface, inhibiting the combustion reaction within the flame area, or by other mechanics.
For halogen-free flame retardant for PBT, aluminum diethyl phosphinate ADP BX FR ADP is recommended.
Brominated flame retardant, BX FR 245, BX FR DBDPE, and antimony trioxide BX FR Sb2O3 are used together as halogen flame retardants for PBT.
Impact Modifier for PBT
Impact Modifiers are substances that increase the durability of molded or extruded plastics, especially those that need to be constantly subjected to impact forces like cold weather. They are added to compounded materials to provide performance features. They provide strength and break resistance to the product for which they are added. They also provide rigidity to the product to prevent it from wrapping or sagging during everyday use.
Lubricant for PBT
Lubricants are a kind of additive used to improve the processing and appearance of polymers. The function of lubricants is to reduce friction, improve fluidity and mold release during resin or compound processing, and increase the surface smoothness of products. PETS can be used as lubricant for PBT.
Nucleating Agent for PBT
Nucleating agent which also known as clarifying agents (clarifiers), improve the crystallization of semi-crystalline polymers. BX NA 101 can be used for PBT and Nylon.
Optical Brightener for PBT
Optical brighteners are used to mask yellow or increase the whiteness of plastics, inks, coatings, paper, and fiber. OB1 and KSN can be used in PBT as optical brighteners.
UV Stabilizer for PBT
UV stabilizers contain two types of light stabilizers: Ultraviolet Light Absorbers (UVA) and Hindered-Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS), used individually or as blends. UVA filters harmful UV light and help prevent color change and delamination of coatings, adhesives, and sealants. HALS trap free radicals once they are formed and are effective in retaining surface properties such as gloss and preventing cracking and chalking of paints. The combination of these two families is highly synergistic. UV absorber BX UV 234, BX UV 1577 can be used in PBT as UV Stabilizer.
